Shashank Srinivasan (1985 - 2023)

Shashank Srinivasan

Founder-director

A conservation geographer and robot operator, Shanshank had an MRes in Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of York and an MPhil in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge. He was a National Geographic Explorer, Chevening Scholar, and a Kinship Conservation Fellow.

Shashank passed away on 22nd April, 2023. Read more on his work and legacy here.

Driven by his ideals, Shashank founded Technology for Wildlife (TfW) in 2017, positioning it uniquely at the intersection of technical expertise and a profound understanding of real-world conservation needs. The growth and diversity of projects accomplished at TfW over the years stand as a testament to his foresight and the significance of his work.

Nandini Mehrotra

Programme Manager

Nandini designed and coordinated projects with collaborators in addition to implementing field work and managing the TfW team. She has an MPA in Environmental Policy from Cornell University, is a Kinship Fellow (2022) and a recipient of the WRI Land Grant Accelerator (2021).

Nancy Alice

Conservation Communicator

Originally trained as an architect, Nancy transferred her skills to communicating conservation science. She develops narrative-based communication strategies for our various projects, manages our social media platforms and leads our external communications. In the field, she shifts her focus to document the team in action, driven by her interest in observing nuances of environmental humanities.

Sravanthi Mopati

Conservation Geographer

Sravanthi conducted spatial analysis and created cartographic products that support conservation action. She is an experienced user of GIS tools such as ArcGIS (10.x & Pro), Google Earth Engine and QGIS, and has a postgraduate degree in Geoinformatics.

Ishan Nangia

Data Analyst

Ishan has a formal background in statistics and experience as a data scientist. At TfW, he experimented with using computer vision and mathematics to extract conservation-relevant data from drone footage. Ishan's passion for all things ocean shines through his interest in scuba diving and his current initiative: ReefBuilder.
